Joel Middleton serves as the Managing Director of Facilities for the Clark County Department of Aviation (CCDOA). In this role, he oversees the operations responsible for maintaining the integrity of all CCDOA buildings.

With over 28 years in the field, Middleton leads eight specialized work groups: Building maintenance; HVAC; plumbing; electrical; baggage handling system; automated tram system; automation control; and equipment systems.

Prior to joining the CCDOA, Middleton worked on the installation, testing, and commissioning of the D gate trams at Harry Reid International Airport. He also worked as an engineer, operating and maintaining the C and D gate trams. In 2011, he joined CCDOA as an Airport Automated Transit System Superintendent to bring tram operations and maintenance in-house. He was promoted to airport facilities manager in 2016 and then managing director of facilities in 2024.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Middleton is an avid car enthusiast and enjoys spending his free time with his wife of 33 years. He’s a proud father of 2 adult daughters, enjoys home improvement projects and the occasional round of golf.
