More than 70 children from local Boys and Girls Clubs participated in our annual Paper Plane Palooza this month.

Originally created to celebrate the first anniversary of the opening of Terminal 3, the event has evolved into a beloved event, growing bigger and more extravagant each year.

For the event, airlines, government agencies, and airport shops and restaurants teamed up with children to fold paper airplanes. The adults cheer on the kids in distance and accuracy throwing contests, all while instilling information about what it means to have a future in aviation.

Frontier Airlines awarded one lucky child with two free airfare vouchers. Partners also generously donated lunch, snacks, school supplies, prizes and goodie bags for the participants.

The overall winner this year was team Guns & Hoses, comprised of firefighters and law enforcement officers.
