Harry Reid Airport was proud to join the nationwide celebration of National Travel and Tourism Week, a time to recognize the travel industry’s vital role in our economy and community.

Nationally, travel generates $3 trillion in economic output and supports 15 million jobs. In Southern Nevada, aviation alone contributes $35 billion to the local economy and supports nearly one in four local jobs.

To kick off the week, the airport partnered with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority to host an event thanking travelers for choosing Las Vegas.

Showgirls welcomed passengers in baggage claim, where they could pose for photos to commemorate their visit. There was also an interactive map, updated in real-time, where guests could share their hometowns.

The celebration continued in the ride-share pickup area, where showgirls handed out complimentary waters, Vegas- and airport-branded souvenirs, and sweet treats. A DJ entertained passengers as they waited for their rides.
