Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) is introducing new technology to streamline the travel experience by providing estimated TSA checkpoint wait times on Flight Information Display Screens (FIDS) throughout the airport. This real-time information aims to help travelers make informed decisions as they navigate the pre-security portion of the terminal.
The wait time displays can be found in select locations within Terminal 1, including:
The FIDS near the A/B Checkpoint information booth
The FIDS near the elevators leading to baggage claim
The FIDS at the C Annex Checkpoint
The FIDS at Ticketing
“This program reflects our continued investment in improving the guest experience by using innovative tools to provide useful, real-time information to travelers,” said Rosemary Vassiliadis, Clark County Director of Aviation.
The current activation represents an early pilot rollout while the system undergoes live testing and refinement. Following this phase, the program is expected to expand across all FIDS in Terminal 1 and its parking decks, with Terminal 3 displays, and eventually the website to follow.
The LAS team continues to encourage passengers to arrive with ample time before their scheduled departure, as checkpoint wait times can vary due to passenger volumes and other operational factors.
