The Clark County Museum and Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) collaborated to bring an eye-catching new photo collection to LAS.
“Neon Gateway” features images of celebrities arriving at the airport, with artifacts to help tell the stories behind the photos.
The Beatles, Bing Crosby, and President John F. Kennedy are among those seen in the exhibit.
“I don’t think a lot of people realize that when The Beatles did their U.S. tour they stopped in Las Vegas in 1964,” said LVCVA Archivist Kelly Luchs. “We were not a large town back then, but this was still one of their prime destinations.”
"Neon Gateway" allows travelers to immerse themselves in a nostalgic journey. The exhibit not only pays homage to the stars, but also reflects the airport’s role as the first point of contact for many visitors to the destination.
“This airport really started as a community base,” said Clark County Museum Administrator Amber Colbert. “To show our community’s aviation history and how it went hand in hand with the growth of our economy, the growth of our industry … the airport is really the hub that connects it all.”
