It was fun for the whole family as Department of Aviation employees introduced their kids to life at LAS with a comprehensive, behind-the-scenes look at airport operations during the annual Take Your Child to Work Day event.
Children of employees started the day with breakfast and a meet-and-greet with airport leadership. Then they embarked on a tour of the airport which included a visit to the central plant, where HVAC operations keep the terminals cool and comfortable, as well as an airfield tour. On the airfield, they saw helicopters, a private jet, law enforcement and K9 demonstrations, and Station 13, the airport’s dedicated fire station.
Nearly 120 kids participated in the event, with more than 70 LAS employees serving as volunteers.
