Rules & Policies for Media

Media inquiries are handled by the Public Affairs, Marketing & Airport Experience Division. Regular business hours for the division are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For after hours, weekends and holidays, call the Airport Control Center at (702) 261-5125 and ask to be connected with the on-call media responder. The Airport Control Center is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to ensure you get a timely response and the information you need.

Public Affairs staff alternate Fridays in the office. If you call on a Friday, treat it like after hours and call the Airport Control Center at (702) 261-5125 so they can connect you with who is in that day.

We require advance notification before sending a reporter, photographer or videographer to any of our airports/properties:

  • Harry Reid International Airport

  • Henderson Executive Airport

  • North Las Vegas Airport

  • Jean Sport Aviation Center

  • Overton-Perkins Field

  • Rent-A-Car Center

In general, media will be granted unescorted access to the following areas at Harry Reid International Airport, with advance notification and approval from Airport Public Affairs:

  • Baggage Claim in Terminal 1 and Terminal 3

  • International Arrivals Lobby at Terminal 3

  • Zero Level Special Use Lot at Terminal 1

  • Sixth Floor of Terminal 1 parking garage

  • The Sunset Viewing Area

Access to other operational areas will be granted under escort, pending staff availability. These include airline ticketing areas, proximity views of security checkpoints, taxi queues, passenger pickup curbs and the Lyft & Uber pickup and staging areas.

While the Department of Aviation does not have the authority to grant access to the leased spaces of tenants (airlines, shops, restaurants, etc.), TSA operations, or the FAA tower, the Public Affairs team will happily connect you with the appropriate point of contact for those entities.

Requests to access post-security areas of the airport beyond the TSA checkpoints will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and must be made at least 24 hours in advance to allow time for security processes and approvals.
